LIFE AT L’ORÉAL💄As the halfway mark passes on my summer internship, I thought I would share insight that I have learned thus far at L’Oréal.WHAT ADVICE DO L’ORÉAL EMPLOYEES HAVE FOR INTERNS?Network. Network. Network. Across dozens of cross functional teams all members had the same advice: Take advantage of the time you have during this internship to meet the amazing people that make up L’Oréal. The beauty industry is one of people and connections so the more people you know, the further you can get.WHY HAVE YOU STAYED AT L’ORÉAL?L’Oréal not only offers but encourages employees to move positions vertically as well as laterally across brands, teams, and divisions. Concluding my 6-month internship at Lancôme TRAPAC feels like coming down from a roller coaster. The ride has been full of excitement, challenges, introspection, and, of course, happiness. As I gained knowledge of the travel retail market, I was so impressed by how it creates unique experiences for the consumers and how L'Oréal conquers it as the 6th continent. I'm glad that I had the chance to be in this fast-changing environment, as well as to understand and learn to live with the changes.I would not be able to get my feet on the ground safely without my team, to whom I would like to express my gratitude for their support in my daily work and in my long-term career development. I was given plenty of opportunities to explore the industry and the channels, to interact with stakeholders, and to see my insights bring a positive influence to the work of my colleagues. This helped me to take on multiple perspectives at work, nourishing my communication skills and critical thinking skills.At the same time, assisting in media and CRM campaigns allowed me to discover my interest in consumer behaviors and data. It's exhilarating for me to observe consumers' actual actions in the designed user journeys, which tells a rich story with the power of data. One of the most important message I always convey to anyone I interview is that the session is not only about me getting to know them, but also their chance to get to know L'Oréal as well. I always see an interview session as a two-ways evaluation where the recruiter gets to say if the candidate fits the job/company, but the candidate can also say if the company fits them.I still remember 4.5 years ago when mas ade suhendi interviewed me for an internship position in L'Oréal, he asked me if I have the aspiration to join the Management Trainee program after my internship period? Of course, deep inside the burning fire wanted to directly say "yes of course!".
