Want to know how to launch a business through Amazon and eBay? I spoke to Sanjay Patel about how he and a colleague have built up a £14k revenue / month business through Amazon and eBay. Particularly interesting to hear about the inflection point when they could cut out the manual work and outsource to Alibaba suppliers and Amazon Fulfilment centres. They are now down to only a few hours a week of touch-points. Pretty amazing. Really enjoyed speaking to Harry Newell Wise this week (as always) about becoming a digital marketing freelancer back in 2019, using Upwork platform to get work and how he was able to raise his prices, after getting some 5* reviews. This seems to be a theme that has run through my conversations so far. It means you have to have extra resilience in the first few months of using many platforms, until you gain reviews and credibility. It's been so good speaking to Lara Budge about Airbnb, @Sammy about hiyacar, Sam Burkey about Encore and this week Harry. The final conversation in this little series is with Sanjay Patel, who uses eBay, Amazon and Alibaba Group for his side-businesses. Thank you all. Morning all! I've begun a series of articles about people who are using marketplaces to make money.
